Accountant

Job Description: 

• Full payroll process
• Statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.)
• Annual Audit and Financial Statements / reconciliations
• Responsible for foreign payments (must have a good understanding of how the exchange rate works)
• Payment of supplier invoices (creditor and debtor management)
• You will be responsible for all accounting functions applicable to the company fleet (10 vehicles) and its drivers, as well as checking their logbooks etc.
• Overseeing three junior accountants responsible for basic imports

Qualifications: 

• Completed clerkship SAICA/ SAICA with a relevant financial qualification
• A minimum of two (2) years working experience in the tourism industry
• Strong knowledge of how the tourism VAT system works.
• Computer literate, working with CRMs, ERPs and fairly complicated excel documents
• Previous experience financial reporting and analysis (nice to have)
• Bilingual – strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Well organised, with excellent administrative skills
• Must have a service-focused “can-do” attitude
• Honest, trustworthy and reliable
