Accountant/ Senior Bookkeeper

Job Description:

• Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE)
  • Oversee payroll for approximately 120 permanent and up to 200 seasonal staff
  • Compile and present financial reports to the Financial Director
  • Supervise and provide guidance to a junior finance assistant
• Farm Operations Context:
  • 100 hectares of apple cultivation
  • On-site packhouse and cold storage facilities
  • Workforce includes 120 permanent staff and 200 seasonal workers during harvest

Qualifications:

• B.Com/B.Acc degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
• Completion of a SAICA or SAIPA training contract would be advantageous or preferred, but not a strict requirement.
