Accounting & Tax Administrator

Job Description: 

  • Tax Preparation and Filing Returns:
    • Prepare and file provisional and final tax returns for individuals on e-filing within deadline
    • Review clients’ financial documents (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, etc.) to ensure proper tax filing and deduction claims.
    • Prepare and file VAT and EMP returns on e-filing
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations by staying updated on any changes to tax legislation.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by providing personalised tax services.
    • Offer ongoing support to clients by responding to their inquiries and addressing any tax-related concerns.
  • Accounting Duties:
    • Process payroll, ensuring accurate records and timely payments.
    • Assisting with day-to-day accounting functions such as invoicing and petty cash.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Assist with preparation of monthly management reports.
    • Record financial transactions in accounting software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Compliance Duties & Business Administration:
    • Assist in maintaining and developing compliance-related documentation.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports for regulatory bodies and ensure timely submissions to government agencies.
    • Keeping competence register plan and regulatory risk registers up to date.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.
  • General Administration & Support to senior management:
    • Support senior management with ad-hoc administrative tasks.
    • Help with ad-hoc projects or tasks within the accounting or finance department.
    • Willing to help with duties at reception when required.

Qualifications: 

  • Matric
  • BCom degree with taxation as a subject
  • At least 3 years accounting and tax experience
