Job Description: 

  • Daily processing of sales from the Café, other customers, online sales and other premises.
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Sales reconciliations
  • Stock reconciliations
  • Journals
  • Petty cash
  • Invoicing of 1 entity on Navision (financial system)
  • Weekly loading of payments on the Banking platform
  • Manage costs in relation to budget
  • Monthly reconciliation of 1 entity
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Physical Petty cash count
  • Vendor (Creditor) reconciliations
  • Management pack
  • VAT reconciliations and submission to SARS for 2 entities every second month
  • Managing all applications on FileMaker (IT system) to ensure applications are:
  • Correctly loaded
  • Maintained and updated with any reports and decisions made at annual meeting.
  • Ensure that the donations committed to for 1 entity, is loaded and paid according to the dates agreed with applicants.
  • Assist with the preparation of the agendas of 5 entities annual trustees’ meetings
  • Obtaining relevant information
  • Drafting and compiling of the agenda
  • Compiling of physical files
  • Annual preparation of audit file to include relevant reconciliations
  • Help with the archive system and maintenance thereof, including: Photostats, Scanning, Filing, Compiling information for agendas of meetings
  • Ad hoc tasks

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum requirement for the job is a B. Comm. degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification with accounting as a major subject.
  • A minimum of three year’s prior experience will a requirement.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of bookkeeping.
  • Confidentiality and reliability are of the utmost importance.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team orientated environment.
  • The ability to communicate well (both verbally & written in English and Afrikaans) is essential.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is important.
  • The jobholder must have the ability and initiative to grow the job beyond its current specifications.
  • Computer skills – Excellent knowledge of Excel is essential and prior experience with
  • Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) software will be an advantage.
