Technical Manager (Agri)

Job Description: 

  • Routinely visit all production units to assess and monitor field crop quality, nutrient status, diseases visible, general crop quality, as well as fertilization, irrigation, and scouting (pest control) practices.
  • Implement standard control, monitoring and assessment measures, sample, data capturing, data analysis, interpretation of result followed by feedback and reporting to farm managers and Reginal Manager based on proven results.
  • Develop and draft standardized SOPs for fertilization, irrigation, scout (pest control) practices and methodologies as per operational requirements and best practices.
  • Attentively seeking ways to improve on current methods, systems, keeping abreast with the latest developments and providing technical advice on best practices.
  • Manage teams of fertilizer (nutrition), irrigation and scout (pest control) specialists.

Qualifications: 

  • BSc Agricultural Degree
  • At least 10 years’ experience with applied knowledge within a similar position with proven record of experience as per above duties and responsibilities.
  • Valid SA driver’s licence
  • Willing to travel within Limpopo province and adapt to changing working hours as per operational requirements.
  • Strong analytical and attention to detail

  • Problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Computer literate – advanced excel: Once data has been collected, analysed, and measured, report by way of visualizations through charts and graphs.
