Job Description:

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Sciences, Data Sciences or Engineering or related field.
  • Some work experience will be an advantage.
  • Data Analysis: Proficient in working with customer sustainability (environmental, social and economic) and carbon data. This includes cleaning, organising, and quality-checking and manipulating datasets.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualisation tools like Excel and PowerBI.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is necessary to ensure data accuracy and report quality.
  • Problem-Solving: The analytical ability to identify data inconsistencies and solve problems related to customer sustainability data is important.
  • Reporting: Being able to translate complex data into clear and concise reports is essential. This includes building tables, charts, and graphs to effectively communicate insights.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact with customers effectively. You’ll need to explain complex sustainability concepts in an understandable way and build rapport with customers.
  • Active Listening: Understanding customer needs and concerns regarding their sustainability data is crucial.
  • Sustainability Principles: A genuine passion for sustainability with an appropriate level of knowledge of carbon emissions measurement, life cycle assessment, carbon sequestration/removals, carbon emissions reporting and the broader climate change debate.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with agricultural sustainability practices would be beneficial.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in conducting desktop research to stay updated on sustainability trends and regulations would be valuable.
  • Ability to present results/recommendations to individuals & groups.
  • Ability to build positive relationships – particularly with farmers.
  • Confidence in engaging potential and current clients via phone or virtual meetings.
  • Drive to satisfy clients, conscientious, willing to go the extra mile.
  • Adaptable, excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter and initiative-taker.
  • Based in Stellenbosch region or surrounds.
  • Have a valid SA driver’s license and own transport.
