Irrigation Design Engineer

Job Description: 

  • Project planning of drip irrigation systems, including water supply systems, pumps, irrigation heads control, filtration systems, fertigation and control, from conceptual to detailed design
  • Basic knowledge in peripheral sectors such as: basics of agronomy, geotechnics, hydraulics, electricity and control, civil engineering [roads, drainage, reservoirs, canals, etc.], as an integral part of the planning
  • Preparation of engineering materials including drawings, plans, bills of quantities, specifications, etc. for the purpose of communicating with the client, accompanying the preparation of price quotes and execution planning
  • Coordination of all engineering activities of the planning team (client, planner, implementer, drafter, budget estimator)
  • Learning and improving design tools, methods, planning processes and work processes, managing the data

Qualifications: 

  • BSc. in civil engineering, agricultural engineering or a similar degree
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience in planning – an advantage
  • Good ability to express oneself in English
  • Experience in designing of similar systems with an emphasis on hydraulics and infrastructure
  • Mastery and familiarity with CAD systems and GIS environment
  • Self-learning ability, creativity, thoroughness, accuracy, attention to detail
  • Background and prior familiarity with the agricultural field, agronomy
  • Good interpersonal skills, mental flexibility
  • Willingness to travel abroad – site tours, accompaniment and performance control
  • SABI design certificate is compulsory
