Mechanical Draughtsman / Engineer

Job Description: 

  • Produce 2D drawings in accordance with design specifications for process and mechanical equipment and components, to aid in planning and production processes.
  • Create block flow diagrams for projects.
  • Utilise CAD programs to merge schematics and design data into precise 3D models.
  • Review design documents and plans to verify dimensions and materials, collaborating with engineers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Design pump station layouts.
  • Assist engineers in initial planning by crafting spontaneous design sketches and models for analysis and adjustment.
  • Compile customer sign-off, general arrangements and manufacturing drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production technicians and clients.
  • Continuous Development on company CAD library.
  • Formulate standard operating procedures.
  • Generate renderings for inclusion in product brochures and project tenders.


  • Associate degree in draughting.
  • BTech / BEng are advantageous, but not required.
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Sound understanding of water supply industry is beneficial.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills with engineers and manufacturing personnel.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong mathematical abilities.
  • Ability to adhere to drawing procedures accurately.
  • Capable of working within deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills; must be proficient with Excel; Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and to collaborate with the Hartland-based team.
  • Effective technical problem resolution.
