Quantity Surveyor

Job Description: 

• Attend meetings with professional teams (architects, engineers, contractors) on various property development projects.
• Prepare and review feasibility studies for upcoming projects.
• Conduct cost planning, cost estimation, and financial control of projects.
• Prepare and manage tender documents and assist with contractor procurement processes.
• Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
• Provide guidance on procurement strategies and contract management.
• Assist with project valuations, assessments, and progress reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Provide support to the wider team in day-to-day operations of the company’s projects.
• Contribute to the overall development of the business through strategic input and support.

Qualifications:  

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience in quantity surveying.
• Preferably accredited degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Proven practical work experience, including experience in property development projects.
• Ability to pass the professional ability test for registration with the South African Council for Quantity Surveyors (SACQS).
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, and project cost management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and client interactions.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, flexible approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with various project management and quantity surveying software is a plus.
