Job Description: 

  • Food and Beverage Operations
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall dining experience for guests, including menu development, service standards, and presentation.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, bar, and catering services, ensuring the highest level of quality and service.
  • Monitor food and beverage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels while minimising waste.
  • Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the food and beverage department, ensuring profitability and cost control measures are in place.
  • Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Implement pricing strategies and promotional offers to drive sales and increase profitability.
  • Staff Management and Training
  • Recruit, train, and supervise food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
  • Set performance goals and expectations, providing ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure staff members are meeting or exceeding performance standards.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence.
  • Quality Control and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections of dining and beverage facilities to maintain cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Address any customer concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, striving to exceed guest expectations.
  • Strategic Planning and Development
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies and goals for the food and beverage department, aligning with the overall objectives of the wine farm.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion and growth within the food and beverage offerings, as well as potential partnerships or collaborations with local vendors or events.

Qualifications: 

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
  • Knowledge of wine and the local culinary scene is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Own transport.
