Job Description:
- Food and Beverage Operations
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall dining experience for guests, including menu development, service standards, and presentation.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, bar, and catering services, ensuring the highest level of quality and service.
- Monitor food and beverage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels while minimising waste.
- Financial Management
- Prepare and manage budgets for the food and beverage department, ensuring profitability and cost control measures are in place.
- Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Implement pricing strategies and promotional offers to drive sales and increase profitability.
- Staff Management and Training
- Recruit, train, and supervise food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
- Set performance goals and expectations, providing ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure staff members are meeting or exceeding performance standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence.
- Quality Control and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of dining and beverage facilities to maintain cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to quality standards.
- Address any customer concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Strategic Planning and Development
- Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies and goals for the food and beverage department, aligning with the overall objectives of the wine farm.
- Identify opportunities for expansion and growth within the food and beverage offerings, as well as potential partnerships or collaborations with local vendors or events.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, in the hospitality industry.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
- Knowledge of wine and the local culinary scene is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Own transport.
