Infrastructure Services Manager

Job Description: 

  • Lead a team of external consultants, vendors, and subject matter experts, where appropriate to facilitate the definition of solutions architecture.
  • Provide Information Technology advice and guidance to both T&I and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, IT teams, and end-users. This involves providing regular updates, gathering requirements, addressing concerns, and aligning infrastructure initiatives with business goals.
  • Manages contracts and service levels with third party providers for infrastructure services.
  • Authorises allocation of resources for the planning, development, and delivery of infrastructure services.
  • Works with service providers to use appropriate analysis and reporting tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create management reports.
  • Ensures that infrastructure-related operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date.
  • Understands the implications of change on the organisation and all stakeholders and implements effective change management initiatives.
  • Providing guidance or arrange training to users, including enhanced levels of support following new/updated technology.


  • Education and Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, CCNA/CCNP and others.
  • Experience: Relevant technical experience of at least 10 years with a proven track record of designing, deploying and managing highly technical infrastructure environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, systems, and architecture. This includes knowledge of networking protocols, server administration, storage systems, virtualization, cloud computing, operating systems, databases, and security practices.
  • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of information security principles, frameworks, and standards. This includes understanding of vulnerability management, access controls, and security incident response.
  • Networking and Infrastructure Technologies: A strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies is necessary. This includes knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations, TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure services, deployment models (public, private, hybrid), and related concepts like scalability, elasticity, and cost optimization.
  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Understanding disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and business continuity practices. Knowledge of data backup and recovery technologies, replication, failover systems, and the ability to develop and test recovery plans.
