Job Description:

  • The Technical Manager is responsible for the effective management and control of the requirements, functions and processes in the Technical department.
  • The Technical Manager is responsible for the effective management and control of the Infrastructure, Ops Systems and NOC departments.
  • The Technical Manager must ensure that there is always effective liaison and communication between these departments.
  • Infrastructure
    • Identify new high sites that must be built.
    • Interpret detailed Planning Documentation
    • Optimize CAPEX and OPEX Spend on Infrastructure.
    • Assist with the implementation of National Standards
    • Coordinate the planning process for the building of new high sites
    • Maintenance and upgrade of high sites
    • Proactive Planning
    • RF network planning
    • Network infrastructure strategic planning
    • Quality control and audit
  • Ops System
    • Strategic planning and execution of disaster recovery
    • Quality control and audits
    • Backup testing – report to GM
  • NOC
    • Strategic planning of systems and server backups as well as the implementation of redundancies
    • Quality control and audits
    • Manage Escalations to National Teams
    • Ensure Monitoring Metrics is attended to and resolved.
    • Forecasting of capacity of the access network and back haul – report to GM
  • Staff Management and Training
    • Coordinate and arrange company relevant training for departments
    • Accurate and timely weekly/monthly reporting
    • Manage code of conduct and high standard of ethics
    • Performance reviews on quarterly basis with team

Qualifications:

  • Advanced wireless technology experience 2-3 years
  • Advanced Mikrotik technology experience 2-3 years
  • Relevant ICT/business/operations qualification
  • Excellent leadership and people skills
  • Time management skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
