Job Description:
- Reporting to Group CEO
- Full exposure to Contract work, Corporate and Compliance;
- Role to encompass drafting and on-going operational oversight (legal) on all trade agreements and off-takes, all corporate actions, financing agreements, constitutional matters, dispute management;
- Corporate compliance and International regulatory oversight;
- Support of commercial team in negotiation and execution of project transaction(s) (acquisitions/off-takes/financing processes);
- Lead interface with the group’s external counsel(s), albeit once initial drafting of contracts/commercials has been concluded in-house as the norm;
- Ongoing optimization of company’s operational and transactional templates
- Origination/sourcing and legal structuring of opportunities;
- Other ad-hoc duties as required;
Qualifications:
- Strong academic standing; a Bachelor’s degree;
- Common Law Qualified required;
- Admitted attorney with legal practice and corporate experience;
- Candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in handling mining focused Cross Border Private Equity / M&A transactions / Commodity Trade/Financing, with proven track record of successful transactions;
- Mining/natural resources/commodity trading exposure and terminology required;
- Planning and priority setting skills;
- Commercially minded and a practical solution of concluded agreement required;
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English;
- Highly motivated, responsible and have good time management skills; able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented and is able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment;
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent administrative skills;
- Great attention to detail;
