Communications Coordinator

Job Description: 

  • Communication – Internal and External
  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure all employees are informed and engaged and aligns with the company’s goals and values.
  • Work closely with senior management and HOD’s to identify communication needs and objectives with the aim to develop content that support employee engagement, training and company initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage internal events and engagements.
  • Develop and execute external communication strategies to enhance the company’s public image and brand reputation.
  • Create content for internal newsletters, emails, intranet, and other communication platforms.
  • Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, handling media enquiries, and coordinating interviews.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content relating to the brand.
  • Promote sustainability efforts and achievements through various communication channels.
  • Oversee the communication aspects of the company’s annual report, ensuring it accurately reflects the company’s achievements and goals.
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, businesses and the local community.
  • Develop and manage communication plans for stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Messaging and content creation
  • Produce high-quality, original written content for various platforms, including website, social media, press releases, speeches and talking notes, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure all content, including social media, aligns with the company’s brand voice and messaging.
  • Brand communication and events
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute brand  communication campaigns.
  • Manage communications for all donations and sponsorships.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, logistics, and vendor for stakeholder (Board) engagements, Internal events, and other corporate events.
  • Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities
  • Oversee the company’s CSI activities, including the Canola Development Trust and learning and development initiatives to uplift the local community.
  • Crisis Communication
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.
  • Health and Safet
  • Participate in safety forums, for example safety meetings and safety talks.
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management.
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people.
  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Distribute safety information as and when required.
  • Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, CSI, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant working experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in content creation and managing communication channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with communication platforms and tools.
  • Experience in event management, including planning and executing corporate events.
  • Experience with social media management and digital marketing.
  • Experience managing Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities and community development initiatives.
