Job Description:
- Buchu producer relationship management
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new Buchu producers
- Communicate Buchu intake volumes and harvest dates to the Production team to enable accurate production scheduling, ensuring any schedule changes are clearly communicated.
- Oversee the harvest day process, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Procurement and contractor management
- Handle the procurement of Buchu and other raw materials required for production, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining budget controls.
- Manage contractor relations effectively, ensuring all suppliers and service providers meet performance expectations.
- Coordinate procurement logistics, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Data management & reporting
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all Buchu farmers
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities, supplier performance, and operational challenges
- Strategic involvement & growth
- As relationships with Buchu producers mature, play a more strategic role by encouraging the cultivation of new plantings, including different species and chemotypes, to enhance product offerings.
- Ensure that production needs are aligned with the growth and sustainability of the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management, preferably in the food flavours , fragrance, or essential oils industries.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
- Knowledge of natural ingredients, particularly essential oils and fragrance formulations, is highly desirable.
- Experience in the agricultural/cultivation sector is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to Buchu cultivation locations as needed.
