Procurement Manager

Job Description: 

  • Buchu producer relationship management
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new Buchu producers
  • Communicate Buchu intake volumes and harvest dates to the Production team to enable accurate production scheduling, ensuring any schedule changes are clearly communicated.
  • Oversee the harvest day process, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Procurement and contractor management
  • Handle the procurement of Buchu and other raw materials required for production, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining budget controls.
  • Manage contractor relations effectively, ensuring all suppliers and service providers meet performance expectations.
  • Coordinate procurement logistics, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Data management & reporting
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all Buchu farmers
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities, supplier performance, and operational challenges
  • Strategic involvement & growth
  • As relationships with Buchu producers mature, play a more strategic role by encouraging the cultivation of new plantings, including different species and chemotypes, to enhance product offerings.
  • Ensure that production needs are aligned with the growth and sustainability of the supply chain.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management, preferably in the food flavours , fragrance, or essential oils industries.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
  • Knowledge of natural ingredients, particularly essential oils and fragrance formulations, is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the agricultural/cultivation sector is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to Buchu cultivation locations as needed.
