Job Description:
- Direct link between Marketing and the Producer / Packhouse / Customer, regarding pack specifications, quality requirements, product standards, pack material needs, and timely feedback regarding changes.
- Problem solving approach for Producers.
- Table Grapes & Citrus orchard specification assessment vs market packaging requirements and needs.
- Quality assurance in the packhouse (Due Diligence pre- and post-harvest)
Qualifications:
- Energetic, hard-working, self-driven individual with a strong analytical flair, supported by an appropriate tertiary qualification (BSC / BA Degree – Horticulture / Viticulture) and at least 2 years industry experience.
- The ability to function under pressure, and apply rational decision-making.
- Good people relations and above average verbal and written communication skills at all levels (Afrikaans & English).
- The ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Computer and numeracy skills.
- The ability to prioritise the relevant tasks correctly and complete them within the timeline.
- Knowledge of table grapes and citrus would be beneficial.
- Exposure to packaging materials, warehouses and quality systems will count in the applicant’s favour.
- Must be willing to travel, and work longer hours during harvest and packing seasons.
- Own transport.
