Shift Supervisor

Job Description:  

• Control and monitor of the extrusion processes
• Tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes
• Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers
• Managing the production shift to ensure optimal efficiencies
• Take full responsibility for process and product quality
• Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high level of mechanical performance
• Analyse process and product deviations and perform trouble shooting and adjustments
• High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality)
• Maintain team morale and discipline – control attendance and punctuality and keeping of records
• Keep production area and facilities in a clean and organised condition
• Responsible for shift safety and a good safety culture of the team
• Drive Lean operational excellence activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development
• Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities

Qualifications: 

• Technical qualification
• Minimum N3 artisan or equivalent
• 5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous)
• 2+ years in a position that supervised/managed a team
