Shift Technician

Descriptions:

• Monitor and control all extrusion processes to manufacture products that conform to specification. 
• Ensure team follows process steps to conform to ISO specifications and other relevant procedures. 
• Take full responsibility for process and product quality. 
• Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers for different products and record all relevant set-up information. This includes tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes. 
• Analyse process and product deviations and problems; perform adjustments and troubleshooting. 
• High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality). 
• Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high level of mechanical performance. 
• Maintain team morale and discipline – control attendance and punctuality and maintain records. 
• Keep production area and facilities in a good, organised and safe condition. 
• Drive operational excellent activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development. 
• Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Certification 
• N4+ Electrical Qualification / Millwright 
• 5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous)
• 3+ years in a position that supervised/managed a team 
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal 
• Excellent numeracy skills 
• Excellent problem-solving skills 
• Computer literate 
• Good team player 
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
• Energetic and dynamic 
• Valid driver’s license 
• Forklift licence
