Job Description:
- Feature Management (Scoping)
- Evaluate and define product features at each development iteration, ensuring alignment with client needs and business goals.
- Product Backlog Management
- Prioritize and communicate the product backlog effectively to ensure smooth development progress and timely delivery.
- Quality Control and Testing
- Review and validate that the work delivered meets or exceeds client expectations and internal quality standards.
- Client Interaction
- Act as the primary liaison between the product team and clients, ensuring clear communication, providing training, and offering ongoing support.
- Business Process Evaluation
- Assess business processes, identify requirements, and uncover areas for improvement to enhance product efficiency.
- Market Analysis
- Stay ahead of market trends by understanding customer needs, prioritising strategies, and translating them into actionable development tasks. A good understanding of the competitive landscape is essential.
- Product Sales Input
- Lead product demonstrations and follow-up with clients to clearly communicate the product’s unique value proposition and differentiation from competitors.
- Software Implementation Project Management
- Proficient in planning, executing, and closing projects on time and within budget, with strong skills in team coordination, communication, and risk management.
- Delivery on Timelines. Plan, agree, and communicate realistic expectations for deliverables, ensuring that outcomes are achieved within the agreed timeframe.
- Development Team Collaboration
- Foster a collaborative environment with development teams by facilitating regular meetings, feedback sessions, and ensuring alignment on product goals and deliverables.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical team members to ensure seamless communication and effective problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within the software development industry.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Experience in market analysis, business process evaluation, and product demonstrations.
- Packhouse Systems and/or relevant agricultural experience will be advantageous.
