Job Description:
- Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the farm grocer, including inventory management, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and uphold quality standards for all products.
- Develop and implement efficient operating procedures to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
- Sales and Marketing
- Drive sales by actively engaging with customers, offering product recommendations, and promoting special offers or events.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies for promoting farm grocer products through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and on-site signage.
- Monitor sales performance and analyse data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Foster positive relationships with customers and cultivate a welcoming and inviting atmosphere within the farm grocer.
- Vendor Management
- Source and procure locally sourced produce, artisanal goods, and other products to stock the farm grocer.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors and suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and maintaining strong partnerships.5. Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate a team of farm grocer associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and customer service.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that values teamwork and encourages personal and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in a farm grocer, specialty food market, or similar environment.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to engage with customers and build rapport.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of locally sourced produce, artisanal products, and the agricultural industry is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
