Job Description: 

  • Operational Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the farm grocer, including inventory management, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and uphold quality standards for all products.
  • Develop and implement efficient operating procedures to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Drive sales by actively engaging with customers, offering product recommendations, and promoting special offers or events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies for promoting farm grocer products through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and on-site signage.
  • Monitor sales performance and analyse data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers and cultivate a welcoming and inviting atmosphere within the farm grocer.
  • Vendor Management
  • Source and procure locally sourced produce, artisanal goods, and other products to stock the farm grocer.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors and suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and maintaining strong partnerships.5. Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a team of farm grocer associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and customer service.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that values teamwork and encourages personal and professional growth.
     

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in a farm grocer, specialty food market, or similar environment.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to engage with customers and build rapport.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of locally sourced produce, artisanal products, and the agricultural industry is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
