Learn more about exchange control on 5 May
While there are many who would like to see South Africa’s Exchange Control Regulations abolished, some experts now say that they helped protect the country from the full impact of the recent international financial crisis. Chances are that they are here to stay for some time to come.
When these regulations are not taken into consideration, not fully understood or interpreted incorrectly, individuals and businesses are faced with problems. Further complicating the situation is the fact that the regulator, the South African Reserve Bank, officially communicates only via a bank, therefore all representations have to be routed via clients’ bankers.
Exceed and Tenk Loubser Inc in association with XConsult – a provider of independent, dedicated, comprehensive exchange control services – will be hosting an exchange control course at the Protea Hotel in Stellenbosch on 5 May 2009. All accountants and financial advisors who advise clients on cross-border transactions, will benefit from this course. It will also be the ideal opportunity for interested persons to increase their knowledge of exchange control policies and procedures.
Worldwide the financial services industry is subject to continually increasing regulations and complexity. By forming a strategic alliance with XConsult, a Western Cape-based niche service provider striving to fill these knowledge and service delivery gaps, Exceed will be able to remain responsive to client demands. XConsult’s comprehensive range of exchange control services are available to business advisors, individuals, companies, trusts and close corporations.
