The new Tax Administration Act took effect on 1 October 2012. SARS has extended their information gathering powers substantially and various regulations pertaining to inter alia your Record Keeping duties have been promulgated in terms of this Act. It is important that your personnel take note of the new powers of SARS but also understand the rights of the taxpayer.
