Accountant Manager

Job Description:

  • Manage and lead a team of approximately 8 staff members
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and processing activities
  • Monitor time and attendance of the team
  • Handle labour-related matters and staff concerns
  • Ensure accuracy and regular updates of master sheets
  • Meet and onboard new clients, maintaining strong relationships
  • Support and guide accountants and administrative staff
  • Review and verify Trial Balances and General Ledger entries (journals, corrections, provisions, etc.)
  • Manage client portfolios across the team
  • Identify training needs and implement development initiatives
  • Act as a SAIPA Training Officer
  • Review and sign off on Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS
  • Review and authorise all tax submissions (Trusts, Individuals, Companies, Provisional Tax, etc.)
  • Perform tax calculations and independent reviews
  • Manage SARS-related matters, including:
    • E-filing submissions
    • Audits
    • Disputes

Qualifications:

  • SAIPA registered (non-negotiable)
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ accounting experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Extensive experience working with Trusts (highly advantageous)
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation
  • Strong experience with SARS processes, e-filing, audits, and disputes
  • Ability to manage multiple client portfolios effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
