Maintenance Manager

Job Description:

  • Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all estate buildings, infrastructure, equipment, vehicles, and utilities.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programmes to ensure optimal asset performance and minimise downtime.
  • Manage water, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, air-conditioning, and other critical utility systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and coordinate maintenance projects, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, contractors, and service providers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, asset registers, service schedules, and contractor agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security regulations across the estate.
  • Maintain firefighting systems, security infrastructure, and emergency preparedness standards.
  • Collaborate with vineyard, winemaking, hospitality, logistics, and commercial teams to support daily operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, sustainability, and long-term asset management.

Qualifications:

  • Technical qualification in Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance management or senior maintenance leadership role.
  • Experience within wine estates, hospitality, agriculture, manufacturing, or similar operational environments.
  • Proven experience implementing preventative maintenance programmes and managing maintenance budgets.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams, contractors, and service providers.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, water systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Good understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies when required.
