Job Description:
- Manage of full debtor function, including assistance with issue of invoices. Check of sales invoices issued by rest of team.
- Assistance with release of incoming foreign receipts from debtors.
- Check and update of daily tasting room and restaurant sales from POS, including check of daily cash-ups
- Review of weekly and adhoc payments on banking portal
- Prepare of bank reconciliations
- Completion and submission of statutory returns (EMP 201 & VAT201 returns)
- Prepare of fixed asset register and depreciation calculations
- Monthly preparation of trial balances (including balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register)
- Assistance with inventory control and monthly stock counts
- Assistance with interim and final financial audit (audit working papers and inquiries)
- Assistance with yearly BEE audit
- Assist finance team with ad hoc accounting related queries
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting is a minimum requirement
- Experience as accountant will be an advantage
- Good computer literacy
- Own transport
- Experience in and knowledge of the South African wine industry will be an advantage
- Good people skills – you will have staff reporting to you as well as interaction with other departments
- The successful candidate will have to be able to keep to strict deadlines for submissions and reporting.
- Team player – be able to get things done as part of a team
- Will need to be able to work accurately under pressure
