Cost Accountant

Job Description:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive costing models for vineyard operations, wine production and manufacturing processes
  • Maintain customer pricing structures, discounts, promotions (Including export pricing)
  • Calculate standard costs for raw materials, labour and overheads across the wine farms
  • Bulk Procurement receipts and updates.
  • Track and allocate costs related to wine production equipment, facilities, and processing operations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for stock movements
  • Calculate landed costs for imported materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Customs and excise submissions
  • Track export-related costs including freight, insurance, duties, and compliance expenses
  • Manage the capital expenditure process
  • Prepare detailed cost reports for management review and decision-making
  • Assist in monthly financial close processes and cost centre reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional accounting designation (SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA) beneficial
  • 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or agricultural sectors
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Understanding of international trade documentation and procedures
  • Knowledge of South African tax and accounting regulations
  • Previous experience in agricultural, food processing, or beverage industries
  • Familiarity with wine production processes and seasonal business cycles
  • Experience with export/import cost accounting
