Junior Financial Manager

Job Description:

  • Financial Management & Reporting
    • Manage the full bookkeeping function from source documentation to trial balance.
    • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors, and general ledgers.
    • Compile monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
    • Process payroll and maintain accurate employee records using SimplePay.
    • Compile and manage forecasting, budgeting, cash-flow planning.
    • Manage Statutory reporting, i.e. VAT, PAYE, SDL, CIPC, etc.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end procedures.
    • Liaise with external accountants ie payroll, statutory, monthly and annual reporting.
    • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
    • Maintenance of fixed asset register and reconciling the assets to the general ledger.
    • Responsible for implementing financial processes and controls.
    • Perform any other reasonable task required by the company.
  • Compliance & Statutory Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with:
    • SARS (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
    • Companies Act and CIPC requirements
    • IFRS for SMEs
    • Maintain sound financial controls and governance across entities
    • Oversight of HR records, ensuring correct processing of employee contracts
    • Revenue recognition
  • Cash Flow & Treasury
    • Cash flow management across group entities
    • Payments, supplier management, and creditor controls oversight
    • Debtors’ management, invoicing, and collections
    • Banking relationships and payment platforms
  • Team & Systems Management
    • Leadership within the Finance team
    • Maintain and optimise accounting systems (Xero, Cloudbeds, SimplePay)
    • Implement and improve financial policies, procedures, and controls

Qualifications:

  • B Com Accounting / Financial Management / Related
  • 3+ years accounting/audit experience + proven management experience
  • Professional registration (SAIPA/Related) a definite benefit
  • Cape Town based (Head Office)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solution orientated
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in deadline driven environment
