Senior Financial Accountant

Job Description:

  • Manage month-end processes and group financial reporting.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy, trial balances and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee working capital, including debtors, creditors and cash management.
  • Support tax, audits, banking, company secretarial and internal control requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial analysis and reporting.
  • Manage foreign exchange transactions and related accounting.
  • Oversee weekly grower payments and related financial processes.
  • Lead end-of-season fruit pool reconciliations.
  • Drive automation, system integration and financial process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain and other departments.
  • Support and develop finance team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Management Accounting.
  • Honours degree advantageous.
  • SAICA or CIMA professional qualification/membership advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in general ledger management, financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in financial planning, analysis, leadership and stakeholder management.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting principles.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Experience managing foreign exchange transactions.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
