Senior Financial Accountant

Job Description: 

• Bookkeeping function up to and including financial statements
• Bank statements
• Debtors & creditors, including reconciliations
• Wages/salaries, including payroll taxes
• Journals (e.g. depreciation, month-end journals, year-end journals etc.)
• Compilation of general-purpose financial statements (for individuals, trusts)
• Compilation of IFRS SME financial statements (for cc’s, companies) SARS returns & correspondence
• Completion of VAT201 returns
• Completion of EMP201 & EMP501 returns
• Completion of ITR12, ITR12T, ITR14, IRP6
• Registrations & deregistrations of income tax, employees’ tax, VAT
• General correspondence with SARS
• Registrations & deregistrations for Workmen’s Compensation and UIF
• Completion of Workmens’ Compensation returns (W.AS.8)
• Various company and CC secretarial duties

Qualifications: 

• Accounting degree required
• Further qualifications will be a significant advantage, e.g. Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or Professional Accountant (SAIPA)
• 5+ years’ experience in finance/accounting function
• Pastel Express/Partner
• SAGE Online Accounting
• SAGE Online Payroll
• Xero Accounting
• MS Excel / MS Word / MS Outlook
