Job Description:
- Financial Control:
- Recordkeeping and reconciliation of all trade-related transactions
- Monitoring cost of sales (COGS), including farmer payments, packaging, and logistics costs
- Managing inventory movement and valuation
- Preparing profit and loss statements by shipment, client, and product
- Procurement & Farmer Payments:
- Processing farmer contracts and invoices
- Monitoring delivery volumes, quality, and price adjustments
- Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Export & Logistics Accounting:
- Recordkeeping of export sales, foreign exchange variances, and shipping costs
- Reconciling farmer contracts with foreign exchange contracts (FECs)
- Reconciling export documentation with financial records
- Collaborating with logistics and operations teams for accurate financial processing
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Preparing monthly margin reports and variance analyses
- Supporting budget and forecast processes
- Preparing for audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Systems & Process Improvement:
- Maintaining and optimising ERP systems
- Developing and documenting internal controls and procedures
Qualifications:
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in finance/accounting, preferably in agriculture or exports
- Strong knowledge of cost and inventory accounting, as well as foreign currency transactions
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of export regulations is advantageous
