Job Description:
- Troubleshoot and Repair Electronics Systems, Machinery and Product on Site
- Test and repair production electronic systems or instruments.
- Run tests or fault diagnostics on equipment to locate and address a problem, order parts if needed, and replace or repair parts.
- Reassemble circuit boards, motor components, or other structures within a system.
- Install New Electronic Equipment and Components
- Set up and run initial tests on new electronic systems or equipment.
- Create prototypes, identify and avoid potential issues, and calibrate equipment as needed.
- Follow wiring diagrams, drawings, and schematics to ensure that all systems are installed correctly.
- Update Software and Run Tests on Existing Equipment
- Upgrade software and run software tests on existing electronic systems.
- Maintain detailed records of validity tests and upgrades performed.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance
- Perform routine, regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on electronic equipment to avoid issues and potential down time.
- Keep a log of maintenance tasks completed those scheduled to be performed again in future.
- Maintain Reports and Manuals
- Keep logs of upgrades to preventive maintenance schedules and reports outline tests run, parts used, repairs completed, and troubleshooting steps followed.
- Regularly update manuals for electronic equipment and maintain parts inventory reports.
- Travelling to Sites
- Travel from time to time to sites, inspecting equipment under guidance of the Field Service and Application Manager
- Research and Development
- Responsible for research and development in terms of electronic systems
- Troubleshoot and test functionality and effectiveness of electronics on machinery in the field.
- Assisting and exploring the creation of new field application designs and updating existing designs (under the guidance of the Field Service and Application Manager)
- Training of Dealers on Product Knowledge
- Will initially be responsible for training dealers in product knowledge along with Field Service Application Manager but eventually be solely responsible thereof
- Electronic Standards
- Maintain and adhere to the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Health & Safety and Industry Compliance
- Ensure all operations adhere to the relevant legislation, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
- Ensure that the company’s machinery and equipment comply with the OHS Act in terms of electricity standards.
- Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery by training other functionaries within the factory.
- Safely operate electronics with regards to equipment and product.
- Personal Development
- Maintain electrical l, irrigation and product knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Electronics Technology or related qualification.
- 3 years relevant experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Certification as an Electrician (or in progress)
- Has a thorough understanding and knowledge of the company’s electrical equipment for production
- Proficient in use of MS Office packages and Electronic software
- Electrical Schematics, Electronic Testing, Electrical Assembly, Oscilloscope, Schematics and Motorizing.
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of electrical regulatory requirements
