Head of Data & CRM

Job Description:

  • Data Strategy & Leadership
    • Define and lead the data strategy across digital products and the estates they support
    • Build, develop and mentor a high-performing Data & CRM team
    • Establish and implement best practices for data governance, modelling, and analytics
    • Promote and encourage a data-informed culture across product, marketing, and operational teams
    • Partner with the estate teams to advise on data-driven marketing and sales strategies
    • Manage the data roadmap by prioritising stakeholder projects, requests, and analytical deep dives, and assigning work across the teams
    • Ensure compliance with GDPR and POPIA, with strong data governance and privacy practices across the group
  • Analytics & Business Insights
    • Translate complex data into clear insights that inform commercial and operational decisions
    • Define new metrics and analyse performance across Ecommerce, hospitality, and visitor experience
    • Design and maintain dashboards, regular reporting, and analytical models
    • Provide strategic analysis on topics such as:
    • Ecommerce performance
    • Customer behaviour and segmentation
    • Pricing and demand trends
    • Marketing effectiveness
    • Operational initiatives and business experiments
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Collaborate closely with estate leadership, product managers, and engineering teams
    • Run workshops and discussions to identify data needs and prioritise analytical work
    • Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
    • Provide ad hoc analytical deep dives into specific business problems and opportunities.
  • Data Platform & Infrastructure
    • Support the engineering team to ensure reliable, secure data pipelines and scalable data architecture
    • Ensure that analytics infrastructure supports fast, accurate decision-making
    • Oversee the integration of data across multiple systems, including:
      • Ecommerce platforms
      • CRM and marketing tools
      • Booking and admissions systems
  • AI & Advanced Analytics
    • Identify opportunities to apply AI and machine learning to business problems
    • Encourage the team to leverage AI tools to improve analytical workflows
    • Explore and implement predictive and other machine learning models in value-adding areas

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring analysts or data scientists
  • 5-10 Years of experience working in data analytics, data science, or data leadership roles
  • Ability to translate data into practical marketing levers, demonstrating a strong marketing mindset.
  • Strong SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Experience with data visualisation and BI tools
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
