Accountant Manager

Job Description:
- Manage and lead a team of approximately 8 staff members
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and processing activities
- Monitor time and attendance of the team
- Handle labour-related matters and staff concerns
- Ensure accuracy and regular updates of master sheets
- Meet and onboard new clients, maintaining strong relationships
- Support and guide accountants and administrative staff
- Review and verify Trial Balances and General Ledger entries (journals, corrections, provisions, etc.)
- Manage client portfolios across the team
- Identify training needs and implement development initiatives
- Act as a SAIPA Training Officer
- Review and sign off on Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS
- Review and authorise all tax submissions (Trusts, Individuals, Companies, Provisional Tax, etc.)
- Perform tax calculations and independent reviews
- Manage SARS-related matters, including:
- E-filing submissions
- Audits
- Disputes
Qualifications:
- SAIPA registered (non-negotiable)
- Minimum of 5+ years’ accounting experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Extensive experience working with Trusts (highly advantageous)
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation
- Strong experience with SARS processes, e-filing, audits, and disputes
- Ability to manage multiple client portfolios effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
