Junior Demand Planner

Job Description:

  • Assist with demand forecasting and stock planning for selected product categories.
  • Analyse sales data and trends to support forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels across stores, warehouses, and online channels.
  • Help maintain optimal stock levels and reduce stock shortages or overstocking.
  • Identify slow-moving stock and assist with clearance actions.
  • Support stock allocations for promotions, product launches, and seasonal ranges.
  • Compile and update sales, stock, and performance reports.
  • Track KPIs such as sales performance, stock cover, and product availability.
  • Assist with monthly planning and review preparation.
  • Work closely with Planning, Buying, Procurement, and Operations teams to support smooth execution of plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently studying toward a qualification in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in retail, planning, procurement, or inventory-related roles.
  • Basic understanding of retail and supply chain principles.
  • Interest in FMCG or fresh food environments advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as Sage X3 or planning tools advantageous.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
