Job Description:
- Key Account & Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, including developers, architects, and contractors.
- Build and maintain long-term, trusted client relationships that support repeat business and referrals.
- Proactively manage client expectations, communication and escalation of issues.
- Identify opportunities to expand account value through upselling, cross-selling and scope optimisation.
- Sales, Tenders & Commercial Management:
- Prepare and submit accurate, competitive quotations and tender submissions in line with company methodology.
- Participate in tender negotiations and commercial discussions with clients and consultants.
- Ensure pricing, scope and assumptions are clearly defined and approved prior to handover.
- Protect company margin through disciplined commercial decision-making.
- Design, Shop Drawings & Technical Coordination:
- Coordinate and review shop drawings to ensure technical accuracy, buildability and alignment with approved scope.
- Conduct and/or oversee site measurements and technical site inspections.
- Liaise with design, production and installation teams to resolve technical queries timeously.
- Project & Production Handover Management:
- Ensure a structured and complete handover from sales to production and installation teams.
- Confirm specifications, finishes, timelines, constraints and client expectations prior to manufacturing.
- Monitor progress against agreed programs and proactively address risks.
- Project Execution & Close-Out:
- Track project performance through manufacturing, delivery, installation and final snag resolution.
- Coordinate final inspections, handovers and sign-offs with clients.
- Ensure all contractual deliverables are met prior to project close-out.
- Team Leadership & Support Staff Management:
- Directly manage and oversee assigned support staff operating under the Key Account Manager.
- Allocate tasks, set priorities and monitor performance to ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide mentorship, guidance and performance feedback to support staff.
- Maintain discipline, accountability and professional standards within the team.
- Internal Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with operations, finance and installation teams to ensure alignment.
- Provide regular reporting on account performance, risks, forecasts and opportunities.
- Ensure all documentation and CRM records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Design, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a sales or key account management role, preferably within joinery, construction, interiors, manufacturing or related built-environment industries.
- Proven experience with JBCC contracts, or similar.
- Proven experience managing high-value clients and complex, multi-disciplinary projects from tender to installation.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating internal teams (design, production, installation) and managing support staff.
