Production Controller

Job Description:

  • Process Integrity: Ensure all products meet quality standards by strictly applying process controls and documenting results per QC procedures.
  • Defect Management: Proactively identify the root causes of quality defects and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Operational Excellence: Operate all equipment and ensure it is operated according to verified SOPs. Monitor progress against the daily/shift plan and initiate problem-solving to ensure targets are met.
  • Cost Efficiency: Minimize rework and waste through the effective allocation of resources and precise equipment setups, adjustments, and changeovers.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute and responsible for all PM and basic maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and scheduled inspections.
  • Maintenance Planning: Assist in the development and planning of maintenance schedules; interpret maintenance history to refine the current program.
  • Breakdown Response: Serve as the first responder for machine failures. Perform repairs within your competency level and coordinate with the broader maintenance department for complex repairs.
  • Data Integrity: Capture accurate data regarding equipment performance, downtime, and failure trends. Provide actionable feedback to the maintenance department on repair effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Lead your crew according to Secondary Production Operating Principles to optimize Quality, Speed, and Cost (OEE).
  • Competency Development: Provide on-the-job training and coaching to ensure a highly competent and motivated workforce.
  • Resource Planning: Plan daily manpower requirements to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Performance & Relations: Manage employee relations effectively and apply performance management standards to maintain a high-performing culture

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, similar role, PC, machine operator, junior pc, production line manager or in a bottling environment is essential.
  • Technical Background: A formal trade/artisan qualification is required. You must possess deep knowledge of machinery to minimize losses/write-offs and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated previous experience in leading and managing a team in a manufacturing/production setting.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot technical and operational bottlenecks.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing team dynamics and communicating technical issues clearly to management
