The purpose of the Accountant role is to provide comprehensive financial expertise and support to clients. The Accountants are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements, and providing valuable insights and recommendations to clients for informed decision-making. The expertise of the Accountants will contribute to the success of the clients’ businesses by ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, optimizing financial performance, and fostering long-term financial stability. As the Accountant, through your dedication and meticulous attention to detail, you will play a crucial role in helping clients achieve their financial goals and drive overall growth and success.

Job Description:

  • Compilation of financial statements of various types of entities.
  • Perform various tax calculations and address verifications and audits.
  • Engage with SARS, as and when required.
  • Compile and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Compile, prepare and analysis of client reporting packs
  • Client management and engagement related to accounting matters.
  • Independent review of financial statements of various types of entities
  • Assist in tax planning and structuring
  • Assist in a wide range of accounting and advisory services
  • Provide direction to your team
  • Trains, provides work direction, and problem-solving assistance
  • Overseeing the daily operations of your Accounting Team.
  • Assist the Accountant Team Leader with the supervision of the accounting staff, including hiring, scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.

Qualifications:

  • BAcc or equivalent degree.
  • Matric with mid to high grades in mathematics and accounting.
  • SAIPA or SAICA or accreditation with another professional accounting bodies is required.
  • At least two to four years recent accounting experience in an accounting practice environment.
  • At least one to two years of bookkeeping experience in an accounting practice environment is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Afrikaans and English (Read, Write and Speak).
  • Able to work with Microsoft Office 365 product suite including Excel, Word, Outlook.
