Bookkeeper

Job Description: 

  • Manage full bookkeeping function up to balance sheet level.
  • Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and audit-ready.
  • Oversee debtors and creditors bookkeeping functions.
  • Process VAT reconciliations and submissions.
  • Manage full payroll function, including statutory returns for employees.
  • Handle HR and payroll administration using Pastel Payroll.
  • Perform reconciliations, including overseas creditor accounts.
  • Report directly to the Managing Director.
  • Maintain overall financial control and reporting accuracy.
  • Support financial compliance and month-end processes.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 10 years’ bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Strong ability to take books up to balance sheet level.
  • Excellent knowledge of Sage Pastel (Version 19).
  • Experience with Pastel Payroll.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Ability to ensure financials are audit-ready.
  • Knowledge of VAT reconciliations and submissions.
  • Knowledge of import VAT advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory ability.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and report directly to senior management.
  • Experience in payroll and statutory compliance functions.
