Senior Accountant

Job Description:

• Manage the financial functions across multiple entities, including philanthropic, family office and investment entities.
• Process creditors, debtors, cashbooks and bank reconciliations.
• Process monthly journals, including salaries, depreciation and accruals.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and budget-versus-actual analysis.
• Manage VAT reconciliations and SARS submissions.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and intercompany transactions.
• Manage bank payments, general ledger reconciliations and trial balance reviews.
• Prepare annual Opex and Capex budgets and board reporting packs.
• Oversee annual returns, statutory requirements and audit file preparation.
• Manage cash flow, loan accounts and philanthropic project expenditure.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; advanced qualification advantageous.
• Proven financial management, budgeting and compliance experience.
• Experience within philanthropic or nonprofit organisations.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, statutory requirements and reporting.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets and data management.
• Strong business acumen and commercial thinking.
• Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Able to manage multiple entities, deadlines and priorities effectively.
• Self-motivated, reliable and able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
