Job Description:

  • Manage and grow relationships with external grape producers, ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality grapes and bulk wine.
  • Negotiate annual grape pricing and supply agreements in line with sourcing strategy and budget.
  • Source bulk wine and coordinate grape procurement to meet production and business requirements.
  • Provide technical viticultural guidance and ongoing support to producers throughout the growing season.
  • Coordinate harvest scheduling, grape intake planning, and monitor ripeness to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate production, cost, traceability, and grower records.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with industry certification standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to continuous improvement and best practices across the viticulture function.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 and a BSc Agriculture in Viticulture and Winemaking.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior winegrape production role.
  • 5–7 years’ experience working directly with grape producers and managing winegrape contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international viticulture practices and winegrape production trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial, and relationship management skills.
  • Hands-on approach with the willingness to spend significant time in the vineyards.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Passion for sustainable viticulture and maintaining high-quality production standards.
