Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description:

  • Maintain, inspect, repair and improve plant equipment.
  • Ensure safe, reliable and efficient production.
  • Reduce equipment downtime through fault-finding and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on industrial machinery.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify potential failures.
  • Carry out equipment servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and replace components such as motors, sensors, relays and contactors.
  • Maintain mechanical components including bearings, shafts, pulleys, chains and drive systems.
  • Assist with PLC, MCC, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance.
  • Record inspections, breakdowns, repairs and spare parts usage accurately.
  • Support production by responding to maintenance issues promptly.
  • Follow all safety, isolation, PPE and housekeeping requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role.
  • N4 qualification required.
  • Trade Certificate is advantageous.
  • Mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and maintenance reporting.
  • Strong planning, time management and attention to detail.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
