Job Description: 

  • Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities across specific geographic regions and commodity markets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets and expand the client and commodity base.
  • Set and work towards clear market share growth targets across various commodities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients through effective communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Implement client retention strategies to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Guide new clients through the onboarding and implementation process across relevant product offerings.
  • Grow client usage of specific feature sets to unlock additional revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions across supplier and receiver markets.
  • Use market insights to make data-driven decisions and adapt commercial strategies to support client business growth.
  • Assist grower and buyer clients to enable efficient and effective trade through digital platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team to develop and execute sales strategies aimed at upselling existing clients and expanding the client base.
  • Customise sales approaches to suit the unique requirements of the fresh produce supply chain.
  • Identify and manage sales leads through outbound strategies to grow product adoption and increase value return at farm level.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and live product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
  • Identify client pain points and present practical solutions aligned with product capabilities.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services, including features, benefits, and value propositions.
  • Use product knowledge to tailor solutions and demonstrate how different features work together holistically.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams by gathering feedback to support product and service improvements.
  • Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to refine offerings based on client feedback and market changes.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s licence (role requires travel).
  • Proven experience in the fresh produce industry with a strong focus on client acquisition and growth.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong ability to adapt to changing market conditions and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in account management software and sales tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Intermediate to advanced data analysis skills.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside standard office hours when required.
